Simone Grasso is a Partner at Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), now part of BlackRock, and serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Vena Group and Global Head of Vena Nexus. In these roles, he leads the company’s investment strategy and the development of AI-ready data centre infrastructure.

Simone holds an honours degree in Bioengineering from the Biomedical University of Rome, a Master’s in Management from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris, and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Turin.

Prior to joining Vena Group, Simone was a Principal in the energy team at GIP, where he played a key role in the acquisition of GIP’s European renewable platform in Spain, the firm’s first offshore wind investment in the German North Sea, and the establishment of Vena Energy.

Earlier in his career, Simone was part of the renewable energy team within the investment banking division of Credit Suisse in London. He covered the renewable energy sector across the UK, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy, including work on the listing of Enel Green Power, which was the world’s largest renewable energy IPO at the time.

Simone’s strategic vision and commitment to sustainable energy have earned him industry recognition. In 2024, he was nominated as Renewable Energy Leader of the Year at the 3rd Solar Energy Storage Future Malaysia, organised by Energy Box. The nomination recognised his contributions toward advancing sustainable energy solutions across the Asia-Pacific region.
