Will Hudson
Will leads energy and sustainability policy for Asia-Pacific at Microsoft. His work focuses on one of the defining challenges of the next decade: scaling clean electricity fast enough to support the growth of digital infrastructure, advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence without locking in new emissions.
He works across the region to translate corporate climate ambition into structural energy market reform. His priorities include accelerating supply chain decarbonization—particularly in the semiconductor sector—by expanding access to carbon-free electricity, strengthening the sustainability and resilience of datacenter infrastructure, and shaping how AI can support more efficient, flexible and reliable energy systems.
Will engages closely with governments, regulators, utilities and industry coalitions to improve market design, unlock grid capacity and enable investment in affordable clean power at scale. His work is focused on delivering practical system change that supports both economic competitiveness and long-term decarbonization.
Prior to Microsoft, Will spent over a decade in strategy consulting, including at McKinsey & Company, where he helped launch their Southeast Asia sustainability practice, and at the Carbon Trust, where he established and led their Singapore office.
He holds a Master’s degree in Physics from Imperial College London and a Master’s degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge.
