Hirokatsu Sugiyama is General Manager of the Business Development Office at TEPCO Power Grid, Inc., where he is responsible for developing, commercializing, and scaling growth businesses. With more than 30 years of experience in the electric power and utility sector, he has held positions in corporate planning, business development, investment, LNG procurement, affiliated company management, and utility operations. He previously served as Assistant Chief Financial Officer and Head of a regional branch office. Mr. Sugiyama currently leads group business development and innovation initiatives in infrastructure services, including engineering, operations and maintenance (O&M), digital infrastructure services, and grid-edge services such as distributed energy resources (DER) management. He is actively involved in international business development, partnerships, and consulting services, supporting the transformation of the utility business toward more resilient, digitalized, and sustainable next-generation network platforms. His areas of focus include grid resilience, capacity building, energy transition, and next- generation networks.
