EFD™ CableSafe

EFD™ CableSafe is a monitoring solution designed for underground cable systems, combining high-frequency current transformer (HFCT) sensors with EFD™ data units to detect early signs of cable degradation. By monitoring high-frequency electrical activity associated with insulation breakdown and other fault conditions, the system provides network operators with early insight into underground asset condition before failures occur. Delivering locational accuracy of approximately ±30 feet, EFD™ CableSafe enables targeted fault identification, reducing the need for extensive fault searching and supporting more efficient maintenance planning. Available in IP66 and IP68-rated configurations, including fully submersible options, the solution is suitable for a wide range of installation environments.
