Blue Whale Energy operates a battery-powered virtual power plant (VPP) across Singapore's commercial and industrial (C&I) landscape. The company deploys battery energy storage systems at C&I sites at zero upfront cost and aggregates them into a single dispatchable capacity pool - traded in Singapore's wholesale electricity market to deliver grid ancillary services. Blue Whale Energy was selected by Singapore’s Energy Market Authority for its Virtual Power Plant Regulatory Sandbox, alongside SP Group and Nanyang Technological University. Their distributed battery fleet provides localised grid flexibility and congestion relief, helping hyperscale data centres secure faster access to deliverable power without waiting for major network upgrades. By combining hardware, software, and market participation capabilities, we turn underutilised commercial sites into dispatchable energy infrastructure. Blue Whale Energy is venture-backed by Analog Ventures, Wavemaker Partners and SG Growth Capital, the investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board and Enterprise Singapore.
