Towards a Decarbonised and Resilient Power Sector: ASEAN-UK Partnership

The session will introduce three playbooks produced by the Green Grids Rising initiative, supported by the ASEAN-UK Green Transition Fund, and feature a panel discussion sharing practical UK expertise and experience to support Southeast Asia’s transition towards cleaner, more flexible and interconnected power systems. Key focus topics include:
• How the ASEAN Power Grid and cross-border trade in ancillary services can strengthen system resilience
• How local flexibility mechanisms can unlock value from smart grids
• Innovative approaches to repurposing grid-connected coal-fired power plants
